The never ending journey
Toward happiness and learning
Is fraught with peril … sacrifice …
And accidental burning.
Along the way my mentors
Spared me many splinters
The dividends we marked in time
Have helped me on my upward climb.
The greatest teacher of them all
A voice inside that helped me crawl
And take that step on wobbly legs
Shrug off the fear and grasp the pegs.
The voice I know… it made me grow
At crossroads balanced to and fro
Sometimes failure walked with us
My inner voice would often cus.
The lessons learned are piling up
I’m at a place a healthy cup
Of confidence to sip and savor
Never shun a brand new flavor
